A Little Collection of Hand-Woven Tea Tools

Tight, even rattan weave gives every piece in this collection a warm, natural texture that feels right on a gongfu tea table. Choose exactly the piece you need — a holder for your tea tools, a lid rest, a strainer, a tea scoop, or a single coaster — or collect a matching set. The same hand-woven holders also work beautifully as a desk pen cup or makeup-brush holder.

1 · Tea Tool Holders (also a pen cup)

Three silhouettes, each about 8 cm wide and 10 cm tall (3.1 × 3.9 in), woven to stand open on your table:

  • Pagoda — softly tapered, gently flared sides
  • Cylinder — a clean straight-sided cup
  • Round-Square — a rounded square profile ("heaven round, earth square")

Holds tea picks, tweezers and clips, or everyday pens, brushes and utensils.

2 · Lid Rests (Gai Zhi)

A small stand that cradles a wet teapot or gaiwan lid so it never touches the table:

  • Woven Bud — a plump teardrop of open rattan weave
  • Open-Weave Round — a flat, airy woven disc
  • Rattan & Ceramic — woven sides with a glazed ceramic top
  • Rattan & Wood — woven sides with a smooth wooden top

3 · Tea Strainers

  • Woven Rattan Strainer with Handle — an 8 cm hand-woven basket on a 15 cm rattan handle, rests over a cup
  • Bamboo Mesh Strainer, Two Ears — a fine bamboo-mesh basket with two little loop handles

4 · Tea Scoop (Chaze)

A shallow 13 cm woven spoon for measuring and moving dried tea leaves from jar to pot.

5 · Single Coasters

One-piece woven rattan coasters about 10 cm (4 in) across — a lotus-flower weave or a frost-flower weave. (These are single coasters; our six-piece coaster sets with a holder are listed separately.)

Good to Know

  • Hand-woven from natural rattan and bamboo; tone and weave vary slightly from piece to piece.
  • Measurements are taken by hand and may differ by about 0.5–2 cm (0.2–0.8 in).
  • Tools, teaware and props in the photos are for styling and are not included.

Care

Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth and keep dry. Rinse woven strainers gently after use and air-dry fully; avoid soaking and long direct sunlight.
